Ontario being considered as the most popular destination for new immigrants, however the province is facing a lot of difficulty to attract the new comers to the rural communities.
The main motive to launch the Regional Immigration Pilot was to help overcome all the shortages that were faced by the laborer in few communities. This helped the province to assign 150 nominations in the year 2021 in the three rural locations which were; Chatham-Kent, Cornwall, and Quinte West/Belleville. These municipalities showed the provinces that they had the capability to help all the new comers who faced shortage in their skilled occupations to get settled.
If you are eligible for any of the OINP Employer Job Offer Employer Job Offer streams and your full-time job offer is in one of the participating communities, you may be able to get a provincial nomination through the pilot.
Three Employer Job Offer streams:
- Foreign Worker Stream for workers with a skilled job offer in Ontario;
- International Student Stream for international students with skilled job offers; and
- In – Demand Skills Stream,for workers in occupations that have labour shortages in Ontario.
However it is an asset to apply for Canadian Immigration that comes through any nomination of a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). this program shows to the federal government that their main aim is to support the regional labor market and also to fulfill their needs. The federal government has the final say in all of these applications of the Canadian Immigration and the majority of the provincial nominees are approved by them for a permanent residence.
The pilot is forced to function for a period of two years before they can review it and this period can be extended or discontinued depending entirely on the performance of the pilot.
